If you love the sun, the sand and the surf and you also love netball, then you won’t want to miss Netfest.

If netball is the sport you enjoy, then why not come to the Gold Coast this October and try out the Netfest Competition? This new competition will take place from 16^th-19^th October next with beach games played on specially built beach netball courts located one block south of Cavill Mall—right in the heart of Surfers Paradise.

This will be a weekend for netball enthusiasts with both beach and outdoor competitions organised. You will be able to enjoy the latest form of this sport on the beach or you can play in a regular outdoor competition.

The beach competition is open to female or mixed teams. Participants must be 18 or over. Beach teams may register up to six players with a maximum of four players on the court at any one time. Matches are shorter than regular netball games and will be played in two five-minute halves. Teams playing in the outdoor competition will have a minimum of seven players and a maximum of ten.

Because this is a new sport, participants will be graded on the basis of their regular netball experience. The online registration form includes a series of quick questions that will assist the organisers in grading your team.

Unfortunately, while registration is only available to teams, the Netfest organisers would be glad to hear from any individuals willing and able to act as umpires or volunteers. Full details are available at the Netfest website by clicking on http://www.netfest.com.au
