The Gold Coast is definitely one of the biggest tourist-magnets in all of Australia. According to report released by Tourism Research Australia, the majority of people who have visited the Gold Coast are satisfied.
The research, which was conducted on consecutive weekends over the school holiday period on the Gold Coast in April 2013, was participated by a total of 301 respondents. The findings concluded that the majority (48%) of visitors were fairly satisfied, while another 36% were very satisfied with their Gold Coast holiday.
Why visitors are satisfied with the Gold Coast
There are various reasons why thousands of people keep visiting the Gold Coast every year and why previous tourists keep coming back for more. It’s because the Gold Coast is definitely one of the greatest holiday destinations in the world. It has all the elements that you need to have a relaxing day and a holiday that you won’t soon forget.
As proof that majority of the visitors were very satisfied with the Gold Coast is the return rate (86%). This is much higher compared to the VPS benchmark (69%). The report also said that 47% of the tourists have been here before in the last 12 months while one in five had made Gold Coast their holiday destination at least four times before.
Aspects of trips rated
Respondents were asked to rate some aspects of their trip from very dissatisfied to very satisfied and below are the figures released by Tourism Research Australia.
When it comes to Gold Coast beaches, 60% said that they were extremely satisfied while 30% said that they were fairly satisfied. The Gold Coast is known worldwide for its fantastic ranges of beaches. From the well-loved Mermaid beach and Broadbeach, to the popular sands of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach, the Gold Coast got it covered. Other beaches to check out for both swimming and water activities include Tugan beaches, Currumbin, Miami, Bilinga, Nobby, and Coolangatta’s Greenmount beaches. For personal safety and security, 49% rated this as extremely satisfied and 39% said they were fairly satisfied. One of the things that visitors would want to make sure when they go to a holiday is their safety. They would like to have an assurance that they don’t run the risk of getting hurt or getting robbed when they’re on a certain place. The Gold Coast is one of the safest regions in all of Australia. Some of the major beaches are patrolled and monitored by local authorities. Gold Coast hotels also put security and safety on top of their priority list.
For friendly service, 44% were very satisfied and another 44% were fairly satisfied. One of the reasons why tourists keep on coming back to the Gold Coast is because of the friendly locals. You’re bound to make more than a friend or two when you get out and about with the locals. For quality restaurants and cafes, 44% were extremely satisfied and 40% were fairly satisfied. Gold Coast is home to several restaurants serving every dish that you can think of.
